Mrs. Rosaline Gaffney Dies At Galesburg

Mrs. Rosaline Gaffney, 88, a former Vermont resident, died at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Americana Nursing Center in Galesburg.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Vermont Methodist Church. The Rev. C. W. Leonard of Rushville officiated and burial was in Vermont Cemetery.

Mrs. Gaffney was born Aug. 16, 1876 in McDonough County. She married Walter B. Gaffney in Macomb Oct. 17, 1893. He died June 3, 1959.

She was a member of the Vermont Methodist Church for 48 years and was a member of the Better Ways Sunday School Class of that church and the Women’s Relief Corps.

Surviving are two children, Mrs. Bernice Dean of Table Grove and Walter Clare Gaffney of Roseville; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gaffney was the grandmother of W. C. Gaffney of Pittsfield.
