He was born Dec. 28, 1956, in Canton, a son of Harold and Marjorie Groff Foster. He married Luciea Irene Troutman on Feb. 16, 1978, in Summum. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Steven Foster of Belleville and Jason (and Marina) Foster of Fairmont City; three sisters, Linda Roosa of Farmington, and Carol (and Paul) Stambaugh and Merrie Jean (and Roy) Parry, both of Astoria; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Valesha Foster; and one brother, Jerry Foster.
He was a lifelong mechanic. He also was on the Astoria Fire Department for 16 years.
Services were held Friday, March 20, at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Matt Haberman officiating.
Memorials in memory of Michael may be made to the Astoria Fire and Rescue Department.
