A Vermont man is dead from stab wounds he received after he allegedly broke into a home of a woman in Vermont.
Charles L. Flynn, 35, was found dead at the home of Georgianna Hopping at 12:40 a.m. Friday, Mar. 22, 1985, by Fulton County sheriff’s police after they were called to the Hopping home. Flynn had received stab wounds to the chest area.
According to a press release issued by the Fulton County sheriff’s department, Flynn forcibly entered the Hopping home. A fight between Flynn and Hopping following in which Flynn was stabbed.
He was born Jan. 20, 1950, in LaHarpe, a son of Leonard and Caryl Wheeler Flynn.
He was a steam cleaner at the Rainbow Cleaners in Macomb and a member of the Vermont United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his parents, of Vermont; four sisters, Mrs. Eugene (Shirley) Keithley of Fairview, Mrs. Robert (Jane) Wright of Rushville, Mrs. Eugene (Linda) McCarty of Steelville and Mrs. Leslie (Joyce) Bellville of Vermont.
Private services were held at 2 p.m. Monday with Rev. Tom Wilber officiating. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery.
