VeteranRobert M. Farr Dies Saturday

Robert M. Farr, 83, a retired Astoria area farmer and livestock dealer died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 1975 at the Astoria Care Center.

He was born March 23, 1892, near Astoria, a son of Jesse and Mary Edie Farr. He married Helen F. Justus on Jan. 14, 1923, in Vermont. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marian Hoffman of Peoria and Mrs. Phyllis Peak of Huntsville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Parry of Athens, Ga., Mrs. Velma Hibbs of Astoria, Mrs. Mildred Elison and Mrs. Sada Clark, both of Vermont; and a brother, Dayne Farr of Henry. A grandson and a sister died earlier.

Mr. Farr was a veteran of World War I and a member of Astoria American Legion Post 25.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Mike Hargrave officiating. Burial was in the Vermont Cemetery with Astoria American Legion Post 25 conducting full military services at the grave.
