VELDA (KNIPPENBERG) FANNING

Mrs. Fanning, 57, Of Astoria, Dies

Mrs. Velda Fanning, 57, Astoria, died at 8:35 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, at Mason District Hospital in Havana where she had been a patient two days.

She was born in Beardstown July 22, 1908, a daughter of William and Mary Smith Knippenberg. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and a son who died in infancy.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Fred Mathis of Browning and Mrs. Russell Rose of Astoria; a son, Richard of Browning; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two sisters, Mrs. H. F. Loxley and Mrs. Elmer Schnepper, both of Beardstown; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cline’s Funeral Home in Beardstown with the Rev. Milton Engelhardt officiating. Burial was in City Cemetery at Beardstown.
