Former Bluff City Resident Dies Saturday In Macomb

Verne Fisher, 56, died at his home in Macomb Saturday after a long illness.

Born Oct. 10, 1898 at Bluff City, he was the son of George and Jane Fisher. He married Opal Parks Nov. 17, 1921.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Vivian Gallahue of Colchester; one grandchild; three brothers, Voley Fisher of Galesburg, Riley Fisher of Beardstown and Virgil Fisher of Peoria, and six sisters, Mrs. Rose Vance of Beardstown, Mrs. Lessie Leonard of Jacksonville, Mrs. Occie Hughes of Havana and Mrs. Mattie Fowler, Mrs. Dessie Randall and Mrs. Lucille Janovitz, all of Peoria.

Mr. Fisher was a member of the Assembly of God church and the Elks Lodge.

Funeral services were held Monday in Macomb, conducted by Rev. F. H. Tolliver. Burial in Oakwood cemetery.
