Samuel Keith Easley, 58, of Ipava, died at 3:50 a.m. Friday, May 24, 1985, in his home.
He was born June 24, 1926, near Ipava, the son of Oscar W. and Edna (Johnson) Easley. He first married Irma McCombs Jan. 7, 1946, in Palmyra, Mo. She died March 7, 1972. He then married Clarice Woodell Jan. 28, 1973, in Ipava. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Edna Easley of Ipava; one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Schmitt of Peoria; three sons, Marshall and Robert Easley, both of Ipava, and Samuel E. Easley of Astoria; two stepdaughters, Sheila Robertson of Monmouth and Phyllis Burlingame of Ipava; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Otis and Lloyd Easley, both of Ipava and Lawrence Easley of Canton; and two sisters, Mrs. Imogene Cozart of Cuba and Mrs. Ernestine Andrews of El Paso.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.
He was a member of the Unity Church in Springfield and Berean Church in Ipava. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 5001, Lewistown, and Ipava American Legion Post 17. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a partner-operator of Easleys Service Station in Ipava for 30 years.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Dennis Daum officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery with military rites conducted at the gravesite.
