VeteranRussell L. Elgin Of Vermont Dies

Russell L. Elgin, 43, of Vermont died at his home at 4:20 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 1985.

He was born Nov. 31, 1941, in Beardstown, a son of Isaac and Dorothy Atwater Elgin. He married Phyllis Hunter June 25, 1969, in Beardstown. She survives.

Other survivors are one daughter, Misty Elgin of Vermont; his mother of Vermont; four stepsons, Scotty Parry, Troy and Brad Hunter, all of Vermont, Jeffery Hunter of Fort Richardson, Alaska; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Ketra Lundeen of Columbus, Miss.; four stepgrandchildren; and one brother, Robert Elgin of Vermont.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and worked as a molder at the Clayton-Mark Foundry.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Kost Memorial Home with Rev. Tim Gilliland officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. Interment of ashes will be in Woodland Cemetery, Astoria, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 26.
