She was born Sept. 25, 1948, in Beardstown, a daughter of Howard W. and Alice R. Dickinson Hopping.
Surviving are three children, Brian (and Laura) Dean, Darin Dean and Misty (and Mark) Workman, all of Astoria; one sister, Mary Ann (and George) Carmean of Astoria; two brothers, Dennis (and Lana) Hopping of Warrensburg, Mo., and Max Hopping of Astoria; three grandchildren, Staisha (and Jon) Oest, Casey Dean and Mallory (and Kyle) DeFord; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, James Hopping.
She was the Valedictorian of Astoria High School class of 1966. She worked for the Mason District Hospital in Havana. She later worked for Astoria Fiber Steel, Webster Industries in Macomb, ZETA in Macomb and the Hawkeye Glove Factory in Beardstown.
There will be no services at this time. Cremation rites have been accorded. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
