Ricky Gene Danner, 25, of rural Adair, was killed in a tree-cutting accident Wednesday, July 31, 1985.
He was pronounced dead by a deputy coroner at the scene at 2:45 p.m. He was cutting a tree on his property when a large limb fell on him, according to police.
Born April 3, 1960, in Macomb to Wilbert and Flossie Parr Danner, he married Carol Sipes Sept. 29, 1984, in Bushnell.
He was employed as a foreman at Vaughn and Bushnell, Bushnell, and was a member of Macomb YMCA.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Jason of Galesburg; three stepchildren, Nikki, Tony and Joshua, all at home; his parents of Adair; and a brother, Roger Danner of Avon.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
