VeteranJean Dunblazier Dies In Georgia

Jean Guy Dunblazier, 67, of 4711 Drew Ave., Columbus, Ga., died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 1985, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus. He was a victim of Lou Gehrig’s disease.

He was born Oct. 31, 1917, at Ipava, Ill., a son of David and Lucy Hale Dunblazier.

Mr. Dunblazier had lived in Columbus since 1951. He was a veteran of World War II and was a charter member and deacon of Cascade Hills Baptist Church. He was retired as a greenskeeper from the Country Club of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, Jewel; one daughter, Connie Armstrong; four brothers, Charles Dunblazier of Astoria, Lee Dunblazier of Waco, Tex., Max Dunblazier of Burlington, Ia., and Floyd Dunblazier of Peoria; one sister, Mildred Breedon of Hernando, Fla.; two grandchildren, Kathy and Karen Armstrong and his son-in-law, Mike Armstrong, all of Columbus.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Striffler-Hamby Macon Road Chapel with Rev. Bill Purvis and Rev. Clark Standard officiating. Burial was in Parkhill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Deacons of the Cascade Hills Baptist Church.
