She was the daughter of James and Barbara Lafferty Simonson, born on Aug. 13, 1947, in Davenport, Iowa. She married Larry Crick on June 24, 1967, in Little York. He preceded her in death.
She also was preceded in death by one brother, Dale “Tom” Simonson.
Surviving are four daughters, Teresa Ellis of Canton, Kathy Crick of Lockport, Melissa (and Jim) Zinke of Ashland and Karen (and Garrett) Thum of Smithfield; three granddaughters; one great-grandson; and five sister–in-laws.
She was a Girl Scout leader. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education degree in 1992. She later worked as a substitute teacher in area schools and worked with the Little Learner program in the Canton School District. Lastly, she was a teacher for Head Start in Farmington.
A visitation will be held at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton on Thursday, from 5-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will immediately follow the services at Fiatt Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
