Albert A. “Baldy” Carlin, 74, of rural Lewistown, died at 6:10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 1985 at Graham Hospital in Canton.
He was born Feb. 20, 1911, in Orion Township, the son of Daniel A. and Sadie Grace (Lowe) Carlin. He married Mary Louise Henderson March 5, 1940, in Monticello. She survives.
Other survivors include one son, Bernard Carlin of Little Rock, Ark.; two daughters, Mrs. Linda Graham of rural Ipava and Mrs. Joyce Jockisch of Lewistown; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Grayson of Minshawaka, Ind., Mrs. Blanche Humke of Canton and Mrs. Irene White of Mt. Auburn.
He was preceded in death by two daughters and two brothers.
He was a retired coal miner from Freeman United Coal Company Buckheart Mine. He was a member of Canton Moose Lodge, UMWA 7455 and Illinois Thoroughbred Breeders Association. He was involved with thoroughbred horse racing for many years.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Henry Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Ithel Kenser officiating. Burial was in White Chapel Memory Gardens.
