Gerald E. Constable, 66, of Rushville, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 1985, in Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born Nov. 4, 1918, in Camden, a son of Issac S. and Florence M. Hersh Constable. He married Virginia Tolles Oct. 20, 1914, in Palmyra, Mo. She survives along with a son, Randy R. of Rushville; and a brother, Raymond of Rushville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
He was a carpenter in early life, was supervisor of the Rushville City Sanitary Department for 16 years retiring in 1981 and returning to carpenter work.
He was a member of Rushville Lodge No. 9 AF&AM, Quincy Consistory AASR, Ansar Shrine in Springfield, Schuyler County 22 Club and Jacksonville Antique Car Club.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Bonser officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
