VeteranFloyd L. Coil Dies In Florida

Floyd L. Coil, 65, of Miami, Fla., formerly of Potomac, Ill., died Sunday, May 19, 1985, in Miami following a lengthy illness.

He was born Feb. 28, 1920, at Alvin, Ill., a son of Henry and Estella Coil, now deceased.

He was a graduate of Potomac High School and attended Illinois Wesleyan University, and University of Montana.

Cremation rites were accorded and burial was in Arlington National Cemetery on May 31, 1985, with full military honors. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the 517th Parachute Inf. Regt., in which he received a battlefield commission to 2nd Lieutenant for bravery in action in E.T.O.

Those attending the Arlington service were his widow, Alice Violette Coil, and daughter, Patricia; brothers Carrol Coil of Danville, Ill., G. Donavon Coil of Tolono, Ill., Ross Coil of Mackinaw, Ill., Albert Coil of Browning, Ill. and spouses; his sister, Mrs. Martha Elliott of Falls Church, Va.; several nieces and nephews.
