F. Leonard Clark Sr., 84, of rural Astoria, died at 1:20 a.m. Friday, Mar. 15, 1985, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
He was born Dec. 13, 1900, in Blue Mound, the son of Eugene B. and Charlotte (Kissel) Clark. He married Mary Viola Drewes Feb. 4, 1924. She preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by one son.
Survivors include two sons, Leonard Clark Jr. of Havana and John A. Clark of Tampa, Fla.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Esther Weakley of Monticello and Mrs. Helen Mercer of Jonesboro, Texas.
He was a member of Fulton County Farm Bureau and a 50-year member of Blue Mound Masonic Lodge 682. He was also a member of Scottish Rite Consistory Valley of Peoria and Mohammed Shrine Temple of Peoria.
Mr. Clark was a graduate of the University of Illinois and taught vocational agriculture for 10 years at Augusta and Pleasant Plains schools from 1924 to 1934. He was a retired farmer.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Graveside services and burial were held at 2 p.m. in Hall Cemetery at Blue Mound.
Masonic services were held at 8 p.m. at Shawgo’s on Sunday evening.
