She was born May 14, 1960, in Orlando, Fla., a daughter of Charles O. and Helen R. Herath Buller. She married Marc D. Briney. He survives.
Also surviving are two children, Krystal Briney (Jay Kinney) of Indianapolis, Ind., and Klinton Briney of Los Angeles, Calif.; one sister, Sana; and two grandchildren, Claire and Charlotte.
A 1978 graduate of Moline High School, where she was a gymnast and cheerleader, she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Western. She spent her career in education and helping others, teaching in Lewistown, Havana and Canton, working as a social worker at a safe school, and later teaching at Spoon River College. She served as Director of the Learning Center at MacMurray College and Academic Advisor at the University of Illinois Springfield before retiring as Associate Dean at Lake Land College.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Jenny’s memory are encouraged to make a donation to an organization which helps people or animals.
Cremation has been accorded. Private services will be held. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
