She was born July 19, 1938, at St. Francis Hospital in Macomb, a daughter of Phillip and Mary Katherine Howell.
Surviving are four children, Kathy Flynn (and Mark), Angela Schaffer (and Tim), Todd Brock and Phyllis Harper (and Dennis); three sisters, Theresa Keefauver (and Rodney), Michelle Wherley (and Denney) and Charlotte Reynolds (and Ron); five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Brock, who passed away in February, 2016.
She grew up on a farm in Ipava, where she learned the value of hard work, faith and family.
After retirement, Phyllis and Larry made their home in Meridian, Miss.
She was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Meridian, Miss.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Meridian or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 2, at First Presbyterian Church of Meridian with Pastor Bo Kyle officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to service at the church. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, at Ipava Cemetery in Ipava, which will be conducted by Shawgo Memorial Home. Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.
