She was born Jan. 27, 1958, in Beardstown, a daughter of Ralph and Anne Luttrell McGinnis. She first married Richard Fisher. She later married Orion Briney.
Surviving are two daughters, Amanda (and Justin) Gulick of Mt. Auburn and Amy (and Curtis) Sprout of Yates City; one son, Jeremy (and Christal) Fisher of Astoria; four sisters, Diane (and Donnie) Ward of the state of Arizona, Theresa (and David) Curless of Peoria, Juli (and Andy) Murray of the state of Florida and Terri Carlton of Beardstown; five brothers, Virgil (and Mary) McGinnis of Astoria, Mark (and Geanine) Ballard of the state of Arizona, George Parks of Minonk, Mark McGinnis of Browning and Jon (and Tracy) Matthews of Beardstown; her childhood soulmate Gertrude (the late Smokin Joe) Neff; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Brent Matthews and Lance McGinnis.
She worked as a CNA in the Home Healthcare field. She also had worked at the Illinois Glove Factory in Beardstown. She attended Whitetail Unlimited Banquets.
She was a self-taught musician, teaching herself to play several musical instruments by ear. She sang in the YMCA of Decatur Alzheimer’s Choir.
Services were held Friday, Jan. 16, at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Matthew Thiner officiating. Burial was in the Browning Cemetery, Browning.
