He was born April 2, 1970, in Springfield, a son of Kenneth and Carol Baum.
He married Melissa Brown on Oct. 2, 2010, in Springfield. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Kyleigh of Athens; one brother, Darell (and Suzanne) Baum of Athens; his uncle and aunt, Ron and Linda Ferricks; nieces, nephews, and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was raised in Athens and graduated from Athens High School in 1988. He retired from the Illinois Department of Conservation in 2022 with 34 years of service. He has since been employed with AC McCartney Equipment Sales.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
