Robert E. Baker, 62, of 736 W. Whittier Ave., Hemet, Calif., formerly of the Astoria area, died at 11:50 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, 1985, at Astoria.
He was born Nov. 29, 1922, in Astoria, a son of Orville W. and Muriel Spangler Baker. He married Norma Jeane Clemens on Nov. 27, 1945, in Ft. Wayne, Ind. She survives.
Also surviving are an aunt, Mrs. Ruth Clanin of Astoria, and an uncle, Delbert Spangler of Hemet, Calif.
He was a retired farmer and a veteran of World War II where he served in the Air Force. He was a member of the Summum Christian Church. He had lived in the Summum-Astoria area until four years ago when he moved to California. He had been in ill health for the past eight years.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Roger Koster officiating. Burial was in the Summum Cemetery.
