Herbert Bingamon, 56, of Bushnell, died Monday, Mar. 4, 1985, in McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
He was born Jan. 26, 1929, in Bluff City. He married Mabel Argo on Dec. 16, 1950 at Peoria. On Sept. 3, 1966, he was married to Mary Lou Sperry in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Herbert L. and Clark D., both at home and Daniel L., address unknown; one daughter, Connie Jo Fuson of Peoria; four grandchildren; his mother, Mae Collins of El Paso; and two brothers, Jack of New Jersey and Glenwood “Dunk” of Peoria.
He had worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co., East Peoria, for 30 years retiring in 1975. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1946-1950 and 1951-1955. He had lived in Bushnell since 1975. He was a member of the Bushnell Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Presbyterian Church in Bushnell with Rev. Stan Coller and Rev. Kermit Petersen officiating. Burial was in the Bushnell Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Bingamon Children’s Education Fund.
