Thomas E. Barnes Of Peoria DiesThomas E. Barnes Of Peoria DiesThomas E. Barnes, 63, of Peoria, died at 11:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 1984, at his home.
He was born Jan. 31, 1921, in Ipava, the son of George and Oletta Workman Barnes. One Nov. 27, 1943, he married Phyllis Settles. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Danny L. Barnes of Peoria and Steven E. Barnes of Washington, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Wilbur Barnes of Bardolph and William Barnes of Wataga; one sister, Sarah Clark of Lewistown.
His parents, one brother and one sister died earlier.
A veteran of World War II, he was a foundry worker at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 37 years until his retirement in 1973.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Chapel in Macomb with Rev. David Curtis officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
