Walter R. Beaird, 73, a life-time resident of the Summum and Smithfield areas died at 8 a.m. Monday, June 23, 1975 at Pekin Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 15, 1902 in Cass Township, a son of Benjamin and Margaret Stevenson Beaird. He married Bertha Chenoweth on Oct. 15, 1927. She passed away July 25, 1941. On July 21, 1950 he married Mabel Trotter. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Norma Jean Clanin of Pekin; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Roscoe Beaird of Pekin; and one sister, Mrs. Hazel Cameron of Canton.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Beaird was a member of the Summum Christian Church, a retired farmer and barber.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Summum Christian Church with Larry Manship officiating. Burial will be in the Howard Cemetery.
