Orville Bowen, 65, of 1208 N.E. Perry, Peoria, died at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 1975, at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria where he was admitted at 2:35 p.m. after he was involved in an automobile accident and suffered an apparent stroke.
He was born at Lewistown on April 4, 1909, a son of William and Lillie Lashbrook Bowen. He married Bernice Moreland at Mount Sterling on April 24, 1933. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Kenneth B. of Peoria; six daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Judith) Miles, Mrs. Marilyn Dunlevy, Mrs. Wayne (Carol) Otten and Miss Randi, all of Peoria, Mrs. Anthony (Donna) Sobczha of Milwaukee, Wis., and Mrs. David (Marsha) Tindell of Wichita Falls, Tex.; 12 grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Pearl Wright of Astoria, Mrs. Bessie Kerr of Mount Sterling, Mrs. Francis Rittenhouse of Godfrey, Mrs. Goldie Moreland of Rushville and Mrs. Eva Ashbaker of East Alton. He was preceded in death by five brothers.
Funeral services were scheduled for 11:30 a.m. this morning at Wilton Mortuary in Peoria. Graveside services were to be at 2:30 p.m. this afternoon at the Hersman Cemetery near Mt. Sterling.
