Mrs. Charles Beck Dies Following Long Illness

Mrs. Bertha Ethel Beck, 70, died late Wednesday evening at her home following a 15-month illness. She suffered a paralytic stroke.

Born in Rushville, June 10, 1884, a daughter of Theodore and Mary Alice (Hill) Ellis, she was married on Jan. 7, 1903 to Charles I. Beck, who survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Wayne and Eldon Beck of Canton, and Harold Beck of Rushville; a granddaughter, Norma Jean Beck; and two sisters, Ms. Della Burnside of Rushville and Mrs. Emma Huff of Canton. A son and brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Shawgo Memorial Home, conducted by Rev. Fred Thompson. Burial in the Astoria cemetery.
