Mrs. Violet D. Aten, 84, of Astoria, died at 2:50 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, 1985, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital, Rushville.
She was born April 27, 1907, in Browning Township, the daughter of Amos S. and Cora B. (Stroops) Stambaugh. She married Clarence M. Aten June 2, 1934, in Pittsfield. He died Aug. 18, 1970.
Survivors include one son, Lowell S. Aten of rural Astoria; two granddaughters; and three sisters, Mrs. Dollie Detrick of Browning, Mrs. Velma Hulett of Moline and Mrs. Addie Newell of Astoria.
She was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, and two brothers.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Bruce W. Bolin-Ghitalla officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery near Astoria.
