Eliza R. Adams, 91, a lifetime resident of the Astoria community, died Thursday morning at 3 o’clock at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.
She had been a patient at St. Francis hospital in Macomb since November, but had been getting along so well she was transferred to the nursing home Wednesday.
Mrs. Adams was born near Astoria on March 1, 1863, daughter of Joseph and Ellen Wonderlich Engle. In 1880 she was married to Michael Royer, who died in 1921.
In 1927 she was married to Henry Adams. He died in 1933.
She is survived by two children, Mrs. Hattie A. Curless, Vermont, and Charles E. Royer, Urbana, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Luther Klinedinst, Havana.
She was preceded in death by one son, four brothers and three sisters. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m., from the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, the Rev. Paul C. Lantis, pastor of the Astoria Church of the Brethren, of which Mrs. Adams had been a member, officiating. Burial in South Fulton cemetery near Astoria.
