Leola “Odie” Anderson
She was born Feb. 20, 1935, in Schuyler County, a daughter of Zelotus “Dick” and Goldie “Marie” Walker Foster. She married John C. “Jack” Anderson on Feb. 17, 1996, in Carrollton. He preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 2014. She also was preceded in death by one sister, Madelyn Skiles; one brother, Beverly “B.D.” Foster; nephew, Brad Skiles, nephew and niece, Dennis and Vickie Foster; and great-niece, Amber Foster. Surviving are three nieces, Robin (and Kenton) Shawgo of Astoria, Landa Skiles of Maui, Hawaii, and Velva (and Tim) Fletcher of Havana; one nephew, Greg (and Wendy) Foster of the state of Florida; one sister-in-law, Faith Foster of Springfield; and great-nieces and nephews. She was office manager for Skiles Fertilizer in Astoria for most of her adult life. Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will take place Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial will be held in the Astoria Cemetery at a later date.
