Larry Mason
He was born May 11, 1940, in Cass Township, Fulton County, a son of Blake and Sylvia Melvin Mason. He married Rosemary Stambaugh on July 17, 1998, in Summum. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Jeanie (and Scott Clemens) Davis and Jennifer Blickenstaff, both of Astoria; one sister, Pat Benns of Pinckneyville; one brother, Lynn Mason; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Kirk Schoonover and Brandon Stephens; and two brothers, Lyle and Charlie Mason. He worked and retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company after more than 30 years of service. He also farmed. Services will be held Friday, Oct. 16, at 10:30 a.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Matthew Thiner officiating. Visitation will take place Thursday, Oct. 15, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Summum Cemetery. Larry G. Mason, 86, of Ipava died at 2:42 a.m. Oct. 10, 2026, in the Emergency Room at Graham Hospital in Canton.
