Robert Kaelber

Robert F. Kaelber, 89, of Vermont died at 2:55 p.m. Oct. 4, 2026, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born Nov. 22, 1936, in Browning, the son of Franklin and Della Hoffman Kaelber. He married Luann Hobbs on Dec. 2, 1961, in Bushnell. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Rick (and Kim) Kaelber of Vermont and Frank Kaelber of Springfield; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Joseph Cheatam; one stepdaughter, Vickie Chambers; and one sister, Mary June Mast.

He worked at Kenray Foundry in Vermont for over 30 years.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, in the Vermont Cemetery with Pastor Cody Stinnett officiating.

Memorials may be made to the St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital.
