Rodney Belville
Rodney E. “Rusty” Belville, 90, of Springfield, formerly of Astoria, died at 12:30 a.m. Sept. 24, 2025, at Beardstown Health and Rehab Center in Beardstown.
He was born Nov 11, 1934, in Astoria, the son of Loren and Veneta Furnace Belville. He married Donna Robinson on Sept. 12, 1959, in Ipava. She preceded him in death on Dec. 3, 2000.
He also was preceded in death by one daughter, Kerry Jo Simpson.
Surviving are one son, David (and Loretta Howell) Belville; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and life partner, Mary Lou Scrogum.
He served in the United States Army.
He retired from Caterpillar. After retirement, he was a painter. He started painting grain bins and went on to paint a little bit of everything from barns, houses and even ceramics and paintings.
He was a member of O.D.D. Fellows.
Services were held Sunday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Matt Haberman officiating. Burial was in the Woodland Cemetery, Astoria. Military Rites were provided by the Astoria American Legion Post #25.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Astoria Fire and Rescue Department or Toys for Tots.
