Charles Shaffer
He was born in Alton on Aug. 31, 1953, a son of Glen “Guy” Shaffer and Mabel Gertrude Price. He married Karen Sue Brown on Jan. 8, 1978. Together they lived in Ramsey, Astoria and most recently, Panama. Surviving are his wife, Karen; two sons, Adam and Andrew (Scott) Shaffer; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. He grew up in Glen Carbon. He attended Ramsey High School and Western Illinois University where he earned an MBA. He worked for NTN Bower as a Management Informatiom Systems manager in Macomb. He had a deep love of music and was a guitarist and singer in the band, IZZI. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Assalley Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Nature Conservancy, 4245 N.
