Susan Young

Susan C. Young, 90, of Vermont died Sept. 20, 2025.

She was born Nov. 29, 1934, in Ray, a daughter of Claire and Lois Sipes Mitchell. She married Robert Young. He preceded her in death.

She also was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Mitchell; and one sister-in-law, Pat Mitchell.

Surviving are two sons, Robert Young and Steve (and Janet) Young; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one niece; one nephew; two great-neices; and five great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Vermont Christian Church and also attended Houston Methodist Church. She was an active member of Vermont Breakfast Club.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Dixie Croxton and Mrs. Karen Stauffer officiating. A visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Phillips Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Schuyler County Humane Society, Houston Methodist Church or Cass-Schuyler Hospice.
