 John Beadles Jr.
 John Thomas Beadles Jr., 88, of Rushville died Sept. 18, 2026.
He was born Oct. 28, 1937, in Bernadotte Township, a son of John Thomas and Hazel Lawver Beadles. He married Sharon Lung. She preceded him in death.
He also was preceded in death by four siblings, Melvin Beadles, Charles Beadles, Lee Beadles and Marylee DeJaynes.
Surviving are eight children, Nedra Beadles, Sherri (and JR) Meister, Cathy (and Gary) Spoon, Angie Beadles, Allen Lacy, Eric Lacy, Julie Roberts and Donna Turner; one sister, Thelma (and Robert) Allen; and 15 grandchildren.
He graduated from Augusta High School in 1956 and later proudly served his country in the United States Army from Jan. 30, 1959, until April 5, 1962.
Following his military service, he built a career with FS Growmark, where he worked from 1973 until his retirement in 1994. He was known for his strong work ethic, mechanical abilities and willingness to lend a helping hand whenever someone needed it.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in 1985. He was a faithfully devoted member of First Southern Baptist Church of Beardstown, where he had served as an elder.
He was a proud member of the Chuck Wagon Gang and Schuyler American Legion Post No. 4.
A visitation will be held at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 25, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Daryl Vermillion officiating. Inurnment will follow at Rushville City Cemetery.
