VeteranLarry Cunningham

Larry J. Cunningham, 77, of Vermont died at 12:57 a.m. Sept. 12, 2025, at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield.

He was born Oct. 18, 1947, in Macomb, the son of LeRoy and Arizona Keith Cunningham. He married Rita Stambaugh on Aug. 26, 1966, in Macomb. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Lisa (and Scott) Fawcett of Princeton and Lora (and Scott) Adcock of Plymouth; one sister, Connie Propst of Hot Springs, Ark.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam War veteran.

He worked at International Harvester in Canton and Central Laborer’s of Illinois Local 165 of Peoria.

He was a member of the Astoria American Legion Post 25 and the VFW Post 1921 in Macomb.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Astoria Cemetery with Pastor Matt Haberman and Bob Spencer officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Astoria American Legion Post 25 or Bader Christian Church.
