Mildred “Maxine” Bucher

Mildred “Maxine” Bucher, 85, of Astoria died Sept. 11, 2025, peacefully at her home.

She was born March 27, 1940, in Farmington Township, Fulton County, a daughter of Doyle and Berniece Bollinger Williamson. She married Arthur Bucher on Sept. 10, 1961, in Fairview. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2006.

She also was preceded in death by one sister, Marilyn Fosdyck; and two brothers, Dwayne and Gary Williamson.

Surviving are three children, Valerie (and Leland) Rector, Veronda (and Mark) Bailey and Brian Bucher, all of Astoria; one brother, Michael Williamson of Moline; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and seamstress.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Shawgo Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
