Jon CrozierJon Michael Crozier, 71, of Springfield died Aug. 6, 2026, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

He was born Sept. 8, 1954, in Beardstown, a son of Geraldine Hopping.

Surviving are one brother, Rex Stevens; one niece, Kaylee Stevens; two nephews, Ryan Stevens and Wes Stevens; and four cousins, Marna Maxwell, Edith Buckalew, Brenda Hamby and Jim Hopping.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Stevens; stepfather, Bob Stevens; one brother, Rod Stevens; one sister, Starley Stevens; his maternal grandparents, Oscar and Ethel Hopping; and numerous aunts and uncles.

He spent the first 10 years of his life in Springfield, and then his family moved to California where he completed high school and college. He worked for many years as an administrator at Cottage Hospital in California and upon retirement moved back to Illinois.

He was an active member of Laurel United Methodist Church in Springfield where he served as an usher and was a member of several of the church groups.

Cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Laurel United Methodist Church in Springfield at a future date.

Memorials may be made to the Laurel United Methodist Church in Springfield in his memory.
