Andrew “Ace” Thrash
He was born July 3, 1935, in Taylorsville, Miss., the son of Andrew C. Thrash Sr. and Artye Burkhalter. He married Shirley Ann Jackson on Sept. 23, 1956, in Beardstown. She preceded him in death on March 17, 2026. Surviving are one daughter, Janice Workman (and Mike) of Mt. Carmel; four grandchildren, Angela Hardy (and Brian) of Rushville, Andy Kerr (and Amy) of St. Louis, Mo., Toni Braden (and Tommie) of Pleasant Hill, Calif., and Brian Workman (and Dana) of Newburgh, Ind.; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Monica Shepherd. A graveside service honoring Ace’s life will be held at Rushville City Cemetery on Friday, Aug. 21, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Stacy Tomich officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association in Ace’s honor.
