Emma EdwardsEmma Jane Edwards, 80, of Jacksonville died at 10:27 a.m. Aug. 16, 2026, at The Grove Health and Rehab Center in Jacksonville. She was born April 2, 1946, a daughter of Chester V. and Emily Mae Gunter Huntington. She married Kenneth Lee “Festus” Edwards on Aug. 31, 1973, in Beardstown. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2006. She also was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Edwards; one sister, Judy Huntington; and one brother, Chester E. Huntington. Surviving are one son, Kenny Lee Edwards; one daughter, Donna Boyd; one brother, Robert Gunter; and six sisters, Lois Chambers, Amy Chambers, Dixie Chambers, Harriet Vilardo, Mary (and Tim) Hackett and Linda Shifflett. She will be interred by her husband Festus in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Astoria. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent to www.shawgomemorialhome.com.
