Terry J. Dodds, 62, of Rushville died Aug. 17, 2026, at Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Jan. 10, 1964, in Limestone, Maine, a son of Warren Ray Dodds and Patsy Louise Surratt Dodds. He married Nancy Kay Roegge in Beardstown on June 1, 2007. She survives.

Also surviving are five children, Kaitlynn (and Larry) Huntley of Fowler, Garrick (and Alicia) Dodds of Mt. Sterling, (and their mother Penny Poole), Alexandra (and Konstantinos) Zougris of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Addie Moranville of Rushville and Marcus (and Emily) Roegge of Quincy; one brother, Timothy Lee (and Cami) Dodds of Frederick; one sister, Pamela June Dodds of Frederick; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous aunts and uncles.

He graduated from Rushville High School in 1982. He presently served as a city alderman for 12 years. He was a devoted Boy Scout troop leader for Troop 35 for the last 23 years where he led many boys along their journey, including his sons, Garrick and Marcus, and grandson, Lucas. He was a member of the Rushville Lions Club. In 2022, he retired from the Department of Corrections where he served as a Correctional Food Supervisor. In his retirement, he enjoyed preparing meals for the kids at Kountry Kids Learning Center in Rushville.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville, where he served as an Elder. He was a full-time handy man in his free time.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville with Pastor Andrew Dierks officiating. Burial will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville.
