Susan Symmonds

Susan M. Symmonds, 67, of Macomb died June 14, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She was born April 28, 1959, in Rockford, the daughter of Richard and Katherine Madsen Collins. On May 13, 1978, she married Steve Symmonds. He survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Sarah Christine Bryer of Sycamore, Shelly Marie (and Daren) Hall of Des Moines, Iowa, and Shannon Lynn (and Brett) Foglesong of Vermont, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Michael Collins.

She dedicated many years of her career as Director of Manufacturing at Valley and also served as an HR Manager at Hy-Vee, where she was respected for her strong work ethic and caring nature.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 18, from 4-7 p.m. at Dodsworth Funeral Home in Macomb.

Memorials may be made to the McDonough County Animal Shelter.
