Susan Behrends
She was born Aug. 19, 1954, in Lincoln, a daughter of Gerald and Goldie Aper Burlingame. Surviving are one son, Bradley (and Brittany) Behrends of Pekin; four sisters, Karen (and Jeff) Abernathy of Lewistown, Lois (and Bill) Farquhar of Blandinsville, Emily (and Larry) Mustread of Bowling Green, Ky., and Carol (and Jeff) Hillyer of Table Grove; and one brother, Charles Burlingame of Ipava. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Duane Burlingame. She was Marketing Support Representative at RK Dixon Co. in Peoria. She also worked at Independence Media in Peoria, as a Marketing Consultant. She was a real estate agent in Lincoln working at Werth and Associates for Century 21. She was a member of the Lutheran Church in Hartsburg, Tremont United Methodist Church and the Pekin First United Methodist Church. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Cremation rites will be accorded after the service. Susan Joan Behrends, 71, of Tremont died at 2:50 p.m. April 11, 2026, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
